WALKING THE DOG

Two universes mosey down the street
Connected by love and a leash and nothing else.
Mostly I look at lamplight through the leaves
While he mooches along with tail up and snout down,

Chicago Tribune Reports More Pet Owners Buying Higher Quality Pet Foods

Submitted by freshponder on 29 May, 2007 - 12:28pm.

The Chicago Tribune yesterday reported a heartening trend: pet owners are buying higher-quality foods for their pets in the wake of the Menu Foods disaster in which many commercial and some higher-end foods were found to be tainted with melamine. If anything good can come out of this terrible situation, it may be that the manufacturing of pet foods will be more closely overseen. But there's another issue which seems to be cropping up: the dilemma of choosing whether to buy pet foods which are completely or partly produced overseas versus more expensive US- made products.

Re: Dog Seat Belts

Submitted by mhyers on 19 May, 2007 - 7:38pm.

I think the dog seat belt idea is great. I have one of those dog car seats that the dog sits in and also has a built in seat belt. I always get scared if he is free to roam the car that if there was an accident he would get seriously hurt, for instance, when he is free he likes to perch himself up to look out the window and I'm afraid he could slam right into the window or even worst, break out of it, in the case of an accident.
