Planet Dog to stop producing goods in China

Planet Dog, one of our favorite dog toy manufacturers, has decided to stop producing dog toys in China in favor of bringing production much closer to home. They'll be using manufacturers in Maine and Massachusetts, according to this October 30 article in the Morning Sentinel.

Yay, PDOG! Not only is this better for local economies, but the reductions in transport of your products means that fewer GHG emissions will be produced, which is good for everyone. This may mean a bump up in the cost of their dog toys, but it's easier to swallow the cost knowing that it's going to support Maine and MA-based suppliers.

By the way, if you want to visit the Planet Dog homeland, their company store is in nearby Portland, Maine and in addition to all of the great PDOG products, it offers training classes, a groomer, a puppy play area, and frequent doggie events. Directions from the South:
Follow I-95 North to Exit 44.
Merge into I-295 N via Exit 44 toward S. Portland/ Portland Downtown.
Take the US-1A/Franklin St. exitExit 7.
Turn Right onto US-1A S/Franklin Arterial.
Turn Right onto Marginal Way. Make an immediate left turn into our parking lot
about 100 yards after the turn onto Marginal Way.
