North Attleboro Pet Shop "The Dog House" Under Investigation for Selling Sick Puppies
Submitted by freshponder on 28 July, 2007 - 11:22am.
The Dog House in North Attleboro has been fined for violations of animal health regulations and is under investigation for selling sick puppies. The store, located at 777 S Washington St., is facing possible suspension of its license to sell pets. Read the whole story in The Sun Chronicle.
Please also be aware that pups for sale at pet stores generally come from puppy mills, breeders who breed hundreds of dogs a month with little regard for the health of the pups, not to mention the dams who are forced to produce litter after litter. These puppies often prove to have health and behavioral problems later in life due to the mistreatment they receive in their first few weeks of life. For more information about puppy mills, see the Humane Society's website or watch the HBO documentary "Dealing Dogs", often available on demand through Comcast. More information about the film is available on the HBO website.
