Categories: CDOG Members 21 Jun 2007 - 5:30pm 21 Jun 2007 - 8:00pm Polka Dog Bakery 256 Shawmut Ave. Boston, MA From Polka Dog Bakery in the South End: Next Thursday, June 21st, from 5:30-8:00, polkadogbakery and the Animal Rescue League of Boston are co-hosting an event at the polkadogbakery for the Animal Rescue League to showcase their new, state-of-the-art-in-the-works-extremely-impressive-air-atream-reminiscent Mobile Adoption Unit. You’ve got to see this thing to believe it, and believe us, you’re going to hear all about its glory Thursday night, June 21st, from 5:30-8:00 at the polkadogbakery. The new unit will allow the League to bring adoptable animals directly to communities within Massachusetts, or, in the case of a disaster, be available as a mobile shelter and accommodation for animals and pets in need. Thanks to a generous $50,000 grant from The American Humane Association – made possible by a recent fundraiser conducted on American Humane's behalf by PEDIGREE® Food for Dogs – the cool and incredibly functional mobile adoption beauty has an expected on-road action date of July. The League is currently working with a number of communities to schedule adoption days in various areas starting in July. We will also be drumming up the buzz at the June 21st event for the Animal Rescue League’s October Gala, The Moonlight Ball, held at none other than our own theater of goth in the round, the beloved South End Cyclorama. This is the perfect chance for everyone to see what’s going on at the League, as well as get a chance to meet and greet your neighbors and see what’s in store for animals in need in the South End and beyond. So, mark your calendars, and get ready for a bash of epic proportions. We guarantee, in true polkadog and League fashion, this will be one event you don’t want to miss.
