Hi,

Sorry I misunderstood the area you were talking about. Yes, we can suggest the area at the top of the hill parallel to Huron Ave., although I'm not sure that it's large enough- we'll need to take a better look.

You should also know that access and circulation at Fresh Pond are being studied right now and many current access points will probably be closed to prevent further erosion. This is particularly germane to Huron Ave., which has many "unofficial" access points leading to a steep slope. While the intention is to preserve access from the Strawberry Hill neighborhood, it may not be as easy to get to the reservation from Huron Ave. as it is now. Please fill out the survey (available on the Water Department website) and email it in so that your voice is heard!

I mention this because I'm not sure how the access plan will affect the green spaces along Huron Ave. If you'd like to recommend fencing this area directly to the Water Board, you could send an email suggesting this to Chip Norton, Watershed Manager, at cnorton@cambridgema.gov (and cc us at info@cambridgedog.org). That way, the issue will be on record and is more likely to be discussed. We will also take a look at the area and bring it up if it's of sufficient size and configuration to be really workable.

Finally, the new members meeting is still in the process of being finalized, but check back on the website for updates.

Thanks, as always, for your interest in CDOG!
