Unfortunately we've been told by the representative from the Historical Commission that they will not consider putting up anything additional between the bars of the existing fence (or over the existing fence, or replacing the existing fence). It's important to remember that Fort Washington is actually a historic site and we're limited in changes that can be made. It was a really big deal to get the skirt added under the gate, so replacing all of the fencing would seem to be a major uphill battle. We're working on establishing additional, fully fenced dog parks, and Pacific Street (scheduled to open this Fall) is only a few blocks from Fort Washington, so our best advice would be that if your dog can escape between the bars at Fort Washington, use Pacific Street Park instead.
