Thanks for your question about Pacific Street. According to Greg Garber, who helped us to get Fort Washington fenced and is in charge of getting Pacific St. fenced, it should happen this month (October, 2006). I'd give that a little leeway for construction issues and say that it should definitely be completed by the end of November. We'll keep everyone posted!

We've also heard, unfortunately, about some dogs being able to squeeze between the bars at Fort Washington to escape. We did mention this to Sarah Burke of the Historical Commission, who said that no additional fencing could be installed. If it is making the park unusable for the majority of dogs, it might be something we revisit in the future, otherwise, owners will just need to make decisions on what park to use based on their dogs' behavior. We definitely need more fenced dog parks and we're working on it!
