Legal dog swimming at Little Fresh Pond and Black's Nook. Mutt mitts dispensers and refuse containers well situated throughout the reservation. No dogs romping on mowed grassy areas regulation is enforced, as is dog licensing requirement and parking regulation (Cambridge resident sticker required). 2. Fort Washington,Temporarily closed for maintenance, Summer 2008. Please visit nearby Pacific Street Park (see #4, below) during this time. 101 Waverly Street, between Reardon Street and Talbot Street. Fully fenced, legal off-leash dog park with a mutt mitts dispenser (often empty, so bring backup bags) and trash barrels outside the park. On-street parking. 3 dog maximum per handler (as in all Cambridge off-leash areas). 3. Danehy Park Dog Run: Danehy Park is a 55-acre facility located at 99 Sherman Street in North Cambridge (adjacent to Garden and New Streets). The dog run is unfenced and can be muddy, with no mutt mitts dispenser. Trash barrels are elsewhere in the park. This dog run is scheduled to be improved by the city. 4. Pacific Street Park: Corner of Pacific and Sidney Streets, entrance on Tudor Street. Fenced, legal, off-leash dog park with vestibule gates for safe entry and exit. Plenty of on-street parking, mutt mitts dispenser and trash can. Donate to the Helen K. Holland Animal Care Trust FundIn 1997, a fund was established by the Cambridge Animal Commission to provide emergency veterinary care for stray animals in Cambridge. Many lives have been saved because monies were available for necessary medical care which otherwise could not have been provided due to budgetary constraints. This trust bears the name of Helen K. Holland, a lifelong resident and long-time employee of the city of Cambridge whose interest in humane issues was a lifelong commitment.
